President Uhuru Kenyatta has accused the opposition alliance NASA of intimidating the Judiciary and Kenyans over the August polls.
The Head of State cited the recent provocations by Nasa that they would boycott the forthcoming general elections if the Court of Appeal overturns a ruling made by the High Court last month declaring that presidential election results announced at constituency level made official.
Electoral agency IEBC has since moved to the Court of Appeal challenging the ruling.
Speaking on Saturday during a political rally in Isiolo, President Kenyatta maintained that elections would still be held with or without the opposition, observing that Kenyans have a democratic right to actively participate in polls through voting.
''They (NASA) should not threaten, intimidate Kenyans, if they do not want to participate (in elections), the election will still go on,'' he said.
''Democracy allows Kenyans to choose their leaders freely without intimidation and the over 45 million Kenyans deserve respect and freedom to choose their leaders. Let's have respect for each other," he added.
