The outspoken lawyer remains in custody at JKIA despite the court order to have him released.

"His rights must be respected. The culture of impunity must come to end," said Otiende Amollo.

In an interesting twist of events,  Miguna resisted a futile attempt to deport him to Dubai,  making government officials to continue holding him.

A source privy to Raila's Monday movements, reveals that the NASA leader had his calls rejected by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"He made calls but not even Uhuru responded. He tried his best to save Miguna.

"In fact,  he left JKIA a dejected man. It was an embarassing ordeal," a source said in confidence.

The government still holds that Miguna is not a Kenyan thus he has to apply citizenship afresh.

For the better part of Monday,  Raila was accused for doing little to save Miguna.
