President Uhuru Kenyatta has explained the similar agenda between the government and the opposition that led to the famous handshake between him and opposition chief Raila Odinga.
Speaking at Chatham House in London during an event to explain the Kenyan’s priorities for inclusive growth, the head of state said that both the opposition and the government wants to involve the lives of Kenyan.
“When we look at the agenda we have, when we look at the agenda the opposition was also presenting to the people of Kenya, we want a better life for our people, we want better health for our people, we want jobs for our young people, we want to be able give people avoidable houses, we want to ensure that we have food security and affordable at that,” said the president.
He added that in order to achieve that, they need to bring Kenyans together and stop shouting at each other.
“We are not going to do this shouting at one another, we need to bring Kenyans together and say if we agree on these issues despite the fact that we may differ on other political agenda on these ones we can come together and bring out people together and achieve it,” noted Kenyatta.
