The two politicians who have been at political loggerheads met at Harambee House on Friday, days after fresh presidential elections which Odinga termed illegitimate.

During the meeting, the two leaders vowed to support each other for the country's unity during a press briefing shortly after.

On Twitter, Uhuru said: "Had the great pleasure of welcoming my brother @RailaOdinga to Harambee House where we had the opportunity for extensive discussions on matters Kenya."

"We have come to a common understanding, an understanding that this country of Kenya is greater than any one individual," added Kenyatta.

Odinga had called for dialogue with Kenyatta saying the country would not move forward if talks on electoral justice are not held.
