President Uhuru Kenyatta has dismissed allegations attributed to the Opposition leaders that Jubilee administration has marginalised North Eastern region.
Speaking when he took his reelection campaigns to Garissa County on Monday, Kenyatta cited key positions awarded to leaders from the region in national government.
"Tell me which government has given North Eastern region positions of power like majority leader and three cabinet secretaries,"
The President was referring to Cabinet Secretaries; Amina Mohammed (Foreign Affairs), Aden Mohammed (Industrialization) and Hassan Wario (Sports).
Garissa Township MP Aden Duale is the Majority Leader in the National Assembly.
Kenyatta announced that on Thursday he will sign the Garissa University charter, which will see the institution of higher learning become a full university.
The Head of State further called on the locals to support his reelection bid in the forthcoming polls so that Jubilee can continue with its transformational agenda.
"On October 26, turn out in large numbers and vote for Jubilee so that we can defeat Raila Odinga by a bigger margin compared to August 8 elections," the Jubilee Party candidate said.
The President has embarked on a spirited campaigns trail ahead of the fresh election despite his main rival, Raila Odinga of NASA, withdrawing from the race.
