President Uhuru Kenyatta has said he intends to reach out to opposition leader Raila Odinga for talks after the repeat election.Uhuru who spoke to journalists after casting his vote at Mutomo Primary School in Gatundu South Constituency said he would be open to dialogue with the NASA leader to chat a way forward for Kenya at a time when the country is divided along tribal lines.“As a responsible leader you must reach out and that is my intention,” said Uhuru after being asked if he would be willing to have talks with the former premier.“We are proving to the international community that our democracy is maturing. Kenya has proved that it is able to go through presidential election nullification to give Kenyans another opportunity to go to the ballot and once again determine who their leader shall be,” he added.The Head of State said the nullification of his re-election is an indication that institutions in the country are maturing.“We believe we are setting an example as Kenya. We want our entire continent to follow this particular path,” said Uhuru.Uhuru further said that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials should be allowed to do their work without intimidation.He urged Kenyans to turn out in large numbers to exercise their democratic right and choose the leader of their choice.Raila on Wednesday urged his supporters to boycott the repeat polls and stay away from polling stations.
