Presidential Uhuru Kenyatta lawyers in the ongoing election petition case have addressed claims that a formula was used to calculate the presidential results.
Led by senior counsel Fred Ngatia, the legal team said that the argument fronted by NASA lacked merit.
"There was no absolute mathematical predetermined mode that was used in the electoral contest," he argued at the hearing presided over by six judges of the Supreme Court.
"The process was carried out peacefully. Integrity has been demonstrated. In this electoral contest, what one is looking for is not a utilitarian approach. I pray this court holds that the elections were credible," he added.
Ngatia further said additional votes for both Uhuru and Raila were too insignificant to be used as the basis for invalidating the entire result.
"Errors of addition may occur. The addition was done by our brothers and sisters manually. It is an electoral contest, not a surgery in theater," he added.
