The duo who are on a two-day  tour of the region, gave the issue a wide berth in their several roadside addresses in Molo and Njoro sub-counties which have been hard hit by land clashes.

The two areas have witnessed a spate of inter-tribal clashes in the expansive Ngongongeri settlement scheme over ownership issues.

Two people have died and several houses torched and now the government has deployed General Service Unit officers to restore calm in the area.

Local leaders and residents were upbeat that the President would wade into the matter and resolve it but,  Mr Kenyatta dashed their hopes only promising that he would return to Molo for a public rally where local leaders would air their grievances.
