Photo/PSCUPresident Uhuru Kenyatta has urged residents of Bungoma county to reelect him despite his perceived differences with the area Senator Moses Wetangula.
Speaking during a campaign rally at Bumula town in Wetangula's Bungoma turf Tuesday, the president said he was not perturbed that the senator had been constantly insulting him and linking him to the dwindling fortunes of Mumias Sugar.
"Your insults do not cost me my sleep.Instead of insulting me and saying that I have stolen money from Mumias work on ways to improve the lives of your electorate.That is what matters at the end of the day,not the insults you can spew," a visibly angry Uhuru said.
In his numerous rallies,the Nasa principal has never failed to remind the president that his forays into the region is an exercise in futility that will not translate into any votes.The president, however, added that he was committed to overseeing the betterment of the lives of Bungoma residents despite the area having failed to support his candidature in 2013 and asked them to reconsider their decision in 2013.
