President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on Kenyans to list as voters in large numbers during the ongoing mass voter registration exercise. The President said those who will register will have a voice in deciding who their leaders will be in the General Election slated for August 8.He said the management of resources at both the national and county levels will be determined by the leaders elected by registered voters in the forthcoming polls. “The new Constitution has devolved a lot of resources to the counties to cater for health, agriculture and water services among others. These resources which have a direct impact on your lives will be managed by the leaders you will choose," he noted. Speaking in Tharaka-Nithi County on Thursday, the Head of State appealed to all Kenyans to use the remaining period to register as voters so as to participate in elections."If bad leaders are elected, remember you will have to live with them for the next five years before you can make changes,” said Uhuru. The President and Opposition leaders have been moving from one county to another mobilising unregistered Kenyans to register before the exercise ends on February 14.
