During the event, more than 4,000 NYS recruits will be passing out after completing their training almost three months ago.

The delay has caused anxiety among the recruits who completed their general training in June and were scheduled to pass out the same month but they did not. NYS officials blamed the delay to failure by the government to provide funds on time.

Edward Osore, the NYS commandant, told our reporter that the delay was indeed caused by financial constraints.

“I can assure you is that everything has been resolved and the passing out will be tomorrow. President Uhuru Kenyatta will be present during the parade,” said Osore.

He, however, declined to be drawn into discussing the alleged theft of Sh12 million. He instead referred all the questions regarding the theft to the police who were investigating the matter.

Osore said he was not competent and privileged to comment on the matter.
