The two will be decorated with the coveted Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (EGH) medal. Kabogo's commendation is for steering Kiambu County to national and international recognition after digitising records and automating revenue collection.

Joho will get the award for spearheading the improvement of the county’s health by renovating children’s and women’s wards. He has been on a mission of upgrading the Coast Provincial General Hospital (CPGH) to international standards.

CPGH is the second largest government hospital in Kenya and serves as the tertiary referral centre for the entire coast region. He has also been hailed for ensuring the improvement of traffic management in the crowded Mombasa City.

The Council of Governors (CoG) forwarded Kabogo's name to President Uhuru Kenyatta after the county increased its annual revenue collection by over 100 per cent in the last two years.

Kiambu’s revenue collection stood at Sh1.1 billion as at May 2014, but this has increased to Sh2.3 billion as at May this year, which represents 109 per cent increase.

He has also been hailed for constructing 21 mother and child health clinics, a 400-bed reproductive health unit at Thika Level Five Hospital and a solar-powered health facility in Githurai area.

The CoG has lined up forty-two governors for Head of State commendation for their dedicated and outstanding service to the nation.
