Two top officials of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) are set to be conferred with coveted presidential awards.

Party chairman John Mbadi has been proposed to be nominated for consideration for conferment of Elder of the Golden Heart (EGH) honour.

ODM secretary general Agnes Zani, a nominated Senator, is a nominee for the Chief of the Burning Spear (CBS)- First class medal of honour.

Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka and Kipchumba Morkomen are set to receive EGH honours.

The politicians will receive the State awards because of their service to the nation.

According to a list of nominees published in the leading local dailies, other opposition leaders set to be feted are MPs Chris Wamalwa (Kiminini) and John Olago Aluoch (Kisumu Town West).

Kitutu Chache North MP Jimmy Angwenyi alongside his National Assembly counterparts (Wamalwa and Alouch) has also been proposed by Parliamentary Honours Advisory Committee to receive the Chief of the Burning Spear (CBS) - First class medal.

Former Kwale Senator the late Juma Boy Juma (posthumously) and Bura MP Ali Wario are other candidates who have been proposed for the same (CBS) national honours.

David Mbija Omura, retired assistant sergeant-at-arms, will be decorated for his dedicated service of 26 years with Head of State Commendation (HSE).

Members of the public have until Tuesday (5th December) to give their views and objections to the Parliamentary Honours Advisory Committee on whether the proposed individuals should be considered for nomination.
