Nairobi Women Representative Rachel Shebesh says President Uhuru Kenyatta will support Deputy President William Ruto for president in 2022 General Elections.
Speaking on Sunday at the DP's Sugoi home in Eldoret, Shebesh said Uhuru will lead campaigns to have Ruto succeed him.
“President Kenyatta himself, with our support, will campaign to ensure Ruto ascend to power in 2022," she said.
The Nairobi MP also acknowledged that Ruto worked tirelessly in run-up to 2013 general elections to help defeat Raila Odinga's CORD.
"It is Ruto who worked so hard to have Jubilee win in 2013. It is him who helped President Uhuru clinch power," said Shebesh.
A few months ago, through a statement from State House Senior Director of Public Communication Munyori Buku, Uhuru said he will support Ruto following their political agreement in 2013.
Since taking power four years ago the two have overseen return of peaceful co-existence among many Kenyan communities particularly in Rift Valley.
