A new poll has indicated that if elections were to be held today, President Uhuru Kenyatta would defeat his main opponent, the National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
The Ipsos survey released on Tuesday, August 1 shows Uhuru is leading the in the presidency race with a popularity rating of 47 per cent against Raila's 44 per cent.
The finding further show those who are yet to decide for whom to vote are at 5 per cent while 3 percent refused to reveal who they would elect.
1 per cent of those interviewed said they will not vote in the august 8 polls.
The findings were released hours after another poll conducted by Infotrak indicated the Nasa flag bearer was ahead of the president by 1 per cent.
According to Infotrak, Raila would garner 49 per cent of the total votes cast while Uhuru would get 48 per cent with 2.2 per cent still undecided.
The Ipsos survey was conducted between July 3 and 12 across the 47 counties. 4,308 respondents were polled.
