Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonkohas expressed confidence that President Uhuru Kenyatta will emerge victorious in the upcoming October 26 repeat election that was ordered by the Supreme Court.

Speaking in Mombasa after meeting the Kamba community, Sonko said Jubilee party will swear-in Uhuru after the poll.

The law however allows only the Chief Justice or deputy CJ to swear-in the president.

The Jubilee governor also said the opposition camp will not stop the election from being conducted despite NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga withdrawing from the race.

"We as Jubilee we are prepared. We want the election to be held on the date set by IEBC and after that, we shall swear-in President Uhuru," said Sonko s quoted by a local daily.

"This will not dampen our decision to go to election," the governor added.
