Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's deputy will be decided by President Uhuru Kenyatta, a Jubilee MP has said.
Leader of Majority Aden Duale said Sonko must consult Uhuru over his deputy.
"Miguna's name should be dropped and Uhuru consulted on who the Jubilee choice for DG is. Miguna is not a member of the party thus he is not qualified under the Political Parties Act and the timelines given in it," the MP said.
The vocal Jubilee MP said anyone nominated for the position must be a member of the Jubilee party.
"What we are asking Sonko is to humbly drop that name and consult the President, who is the party leader," the Garissa Town MP said.
