President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to take his campaign trail to Kisumu, the stronghold of ODM leader Raila Odinga.
State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu confirmed the visit.
“He is attending the National Drama Festivals gala,” Mr Esipisu said.
According to nation, President Kenyatta is expected to extend his political mission in the Opposition stronghold ahead of the August 8 elections.
Uhuru is also expected to visit Vihiga County, the home turf of National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principal Musalia Mudavadi.
“The President is reaching out to every corner of the country, not just Vihiga. It is important for him that he visits all counties, sees how government investments are impacting ordinary people,” Mr Esipisu said.
Last month, President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto toured Kisii and Nyamira counties where they launched government projects and campaigned ahead of the August polls.
“The bottomline is that the President understands the daily grind that our people go through even as he works to grow the economy. He feels them, as we’d say. He is working hard to improve lives,” Mr Esipisu added.
