President Uhuru Kenyatta has said each Kenyan has a right to own land anywhere in the Country.
The head of state was speaking when he issued title deeds to residents in Chepyuk Mount Elgon. He said citizens had equal rights to land ownership.
Uhuru assured Jubilee government was committed to ensuring land is distributed equitably throughout the Country.
"Land ownership is a right to everyone to practice agricultural activities. Owners should possess documents to show that they legally posses the land,'' said Uhuru.
He pointed out that Kenya had benefited greatly from agriculture and encouraged locals to venture more into farming.
He urged locals to support Jubilee government in 2017 polls noting that Jubilee has done much to Kenyans since 2013.
Uhuru was accompanied by deputy president William Ruto with other leaders from Mt Elgon region.
