A Nyambaria High School dormitory that was reportedly built in 2004 will be among the projects President Uhuru Kenyatta would officially open on Tuesday.
Kenyatta will be on a vote hunt in Gusii region, an area that has been earmarked by Jubilee Party as a tossup territory.
Named after a famous Kisii Rainmaker Sakawa, the building has since been renamed Kenyatta Dormitory after refurbishment by school funds and will be‘re-opened’ when the president visits on Tuesday.
“I want to confirm that the dormitory was erected in 2004 and was refurbished using school funds recently,” noted Jones Bitange, a former Head prefect of the institution.
Bitange added: “We used to call it Sakawa and has since been refurbished and renamed Kenyatta. Nothing new at all and they know that.”
However, Education CS Fred Matiangi had earlier visited the institution last year and reportedly commissioned refurbishment of the building.
Among other projects Uhuru is expected to commission include; Kemera- Amabuko road and carpeting of Kisii-Chemosit road.
It is not however clear whether Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire will attend the function which will take place in his home turf.
