Vihiga Senator George Khaniri has sounded a warning to the Jubilee government saying it's about to go home due to the record it has set in corruption.
Khaniri who was speaking at a funeral in Vihiga, that was also attended by ODM Leader Raila Odinga, on Saturday promised that President Uhuru Kenya was going to make history as the first one term Kenyan President.
He said the recent visit by the president to the Western region was a goodbye to the people since he was leaving office in 2017.
"We hope that when Uhuru and Ruto come to Western, they will come to bid us goodbye because this is their last term in government. He is going down in Kenya's history books as the only Kenya's one-term President," he was quoted by The standard.
Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya who was present at the funeral insisted that Western Kenya was still an opposition zone despite Jubilee's attempt to woo the voters with development projects which he termed as projects of the Grand Coalition Government.
"Political stance in Western remain intact. Any attempt to hoodwink the electorates through projects that are the brainchild of the Grand Coalition Government will not bear fruit. Western is solidly an opposition stronghold," he said.
