A furious president Uhuru Kenyatta has yet again accused Supreme Court judges of assuming ‘illegal’ powers to intimidate the will of the people.
On Wednesday, Supreme Court judges under the leadership of Chief Justice David Maraga read the full judgment that occasioned nullification of Uhuru’s victory.
Addressing leaders from marginalized communities at State House Uhuru maintained the judiciary robed him outright victory.
“I have gone through the judgment and I maintain that the judges robed me victory. It was a judicial coup and they are lucky I respect the constitution,” he said.
A tough talking president added:”They are lucky that I am democratic. Kenyans would be talking of something else. They have even said that they will nullify elections in future even if I win.”
It was Uhuru’s first public speech since the Chief Justice accused Executive and Judiciary of intimidating judges.
He said that he was ready to participate elections in a date that IEBC will set adding that he had not used his powers to intimidate anyone.
