The two leaders have not shared platforms on many occasions after the August 8 and October 26 repeat election that polarized the country after the opposition accused the Jubilee administration of rigging the poll in Uhuru's favour.

The Fifth Devolution Conference will be hosted at Kakamega High School between April 23 and 27 and is expected to be used to assess the successes of devolution from the time it came into implementation.

Both Uhuru and Raila also attended the devolution conference that was held in Kisumu in April 2015.

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya on Wednesday addressed a press conference in Kakamega and assured the country the county is prepared to host the event held annually.

"All is set for the conference we expected to receive leaders both in the national and county governments.

Specific investors, the media, church leaders and representatives from various sectors will also attend.
