President Uhuru Kenyatta is planning to pay dowry to the family of former President Jomo Kenyatta’s grandmother Mosana.

The president will pay a visit to the family in Narok to settle the bride price after some two centuries.

Already, preparations are in top gear at the home of ole Gilisho family in Narok West  and the first family is set to give the date of their visit soon.

According Uhuru's cousins former Gatundu South MP Ngengi Muigai and his brother Kung’u Muigai, the family is working on settling the ‘debt’ for the ‘stolen girl’.

The Kenyatta family has been for the last few years trying to trace the roots of their great grandmother with the help of Maasai elders.

According to an elder in the know, folklore has it that Agikuyu warriors once raided the Maasai village of Naroosura and took a herd of cattle together with a girl who later gave birth to Kung’u Magana.

Magana was the father to first Kenyan President Jomo Kenyatta, Kung'u Muigai and James Muigai.

Capt Rtd Kung’u said that since Uhuru's middle name is Muigai (after his great grandfather, Muigai), it is his responsibility to pay ‘his’ bride price.
