[Photo: Courtesy]President Uhuru Kenyatta is on Monday, May 29, 2017, expected to present his presidential papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).The IEBC received presidential papers of candidates vying for presidency in the August 8, elections, including Independent candidates, Sunday, May 28, 2017.It set Sunday and Monday as the only days for the exercise, ahead of the August 8 polls.Uhuru, the leader of Jubilee Party, will be accompanied by his deputy, William Ruto, as they present their documentation to the electoral agency, after declaring to defend their seat, and serve for a second term.ODM Director of Elections and Suna East MP Junet Muhammed while speaking on Citizen TV, said Uhuru should present his papers as a candidate just like Opposition leader, and not as a president.Opposition's Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka presented their documentation to the IEBC, Sunday, after which they were cleared to vie, and given a nomination certificate.Alliance for Real Change party presidential candidate Muhammad Abduba Dida was also cleared. IEBC had Sunday morning cleared Third Way Alliance party leader Eukuro Aokot, who is also eyeing to be Kenya's fifth president.
