A number of Jubilee MPs on Tuesday skipped a Parliamentary Group meeting hosted by President Uhuru Kenyatta.During the meeting, President Uhuru warned of punitive measures against the MPs who failed to turn up.
The Head of State further asked Jubilee MPs to endorse all Cabinet Secretary nominees.
The meeting was to set the legislative agenda for Jubilee in Parliament as it resumes business after a two-month break.
According to Majority Leader Aden Duale, Jubilee will embark on intense sessions to clear a backlog of pending matters.
He stated that Jubilee would maintain the members that they had agreed on ahead of the session that will involve the approval of the names to the House Business Committees.
The absence of some MPs is not a surprise after President ordered four House committees to remove their chairmen in favour of Jubilee Party preferences.
Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), Silas Tiren (Moiben), Kangogo Bowen (Marakwet East) and James Gakuya (Embakasi North), were ejected after President Kenyatta's order.
