The President said the opposition leader has no clear agenda for the country and has championed propaganda throughout his political career.

"Raila has always thrived in championing negativity in government even when he was the Prime Minister. He always portrays the government of the day in bad light. It is time he considers quitting politics," said Uhuru.

Speaking in Mukurweini in Nyeri County during his two-day tour of Central Kenya, the President said the government will cater for the CORD co-principal's needs and accord him the respect he deserves if he retires from politics.

"If Raila quits today we will take care of him and always respect him as a leader," said the President.

He said his Jubilee government was putting in place systems to steer economic growth but that the opposition chief is not happy about it.

“The problem in this country is bad politics. We are focusing on negative and divisive politics. Recently, when we allocated money to put up a referral hospital in Nanyuki, to ease pressure for Nyeri Hospital, the same person said money had been stolen,” he said.
