Speaking during a rally in Kericho on Friday, Uhuru dismissed claims of wrangling in Jubilee and urged Rift Valley residents to support his coalition in the 2017 elections.

“I appeal to Rift Valley residents to vote for Jubilee in 2017. There is no power struggle in Jubilee and I assure Rift Valley residents that I will support my brother Ruto to take over from me in 2022,” he said.

The automatic support for Ruto from Central Kenya was put in doubt after Governo William Kabogo said that it would not be so. He later retracted the statement.

There have also been speculations that Peter Kenneth who is expected to vie for the Nairobi Governor seat is being groomed for the presidency in 2022.

These claims have been denied by a section of Central leaders.

During the Kericho tour, Uhuru was accompanied by his deputy where they launched road projects in different counties in the region.
