A fired up President Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered county governors to pay salaries to doctors in the whole period they were on strike.
But a physically agitated president warned that he will be forced to fire them should they attempt to go on strike in the future.
The country witnessed a historical industrial strike by doctors, which lasted on a record 100 days and saw a host of KMPDU jailed for a few days.
“I don’t want to hear this issue of unpaid dues. I am appealing to all governors to implement return to work formula of all doctors,” said Uhuru during his Wednesday’s stopover in Kikuyu Township.
He added: “Let it be clear that this is the last time they are going on strike. We do not want them to create unnecessary fear in the country. I will sack all of them.”
It is only Mombasa and Bomet County government has paid doctors in the entire period they were out of work.
