It was the first time Uhuru commented on intrigues surrounding the leadership of Nairobi, in the same day Governor Sonko accused unnamed individuals of undermining his leadership.

Speaking on Saturday during the tree planting function, Uhuru lamented that the county government was losing at least Sh700, 000 to contractors even though the town remained in a mess.

"There is a lot of money going to wastage in Nairobi. The county is using at least Sh700,000 for cleaning annually and this is not working.

"The town still remains in a pathetic state and this issue must be looked at. Weo cannot continue losing billions in work not done," he said.

Apparently, Sonko had picked war with Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko, whom he accused of undermining him after snubbing him during the function.

But after grabbing microphone from DP William Ruto, Sonko admitted the troubles his administration is facing and asked his officers to work with speed.

"Yes, I inherited a lot of troubles from my predecessor and I am trying my best. Those technocrats in my various offices must work or quit," he said.
