A Jubilee Member of Parliament now wants the government to shun opposition regions in its development dispersal, in retaliation to opposition leaders' continued attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
According to Nyandarua Women Representative Faith Gitau, opposition leaders' move to fault each and every effort by the state to develop the country is a demonstration that they do not approve of his leadership.
Speaking at Nguka ACK Church in Kirinyaga county Sunday, a function also attended by Senate Deputy Speaker and Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki, the lawmaker noted that the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders should not be compelled to have development they are not willing to receive.
''If they don’t support our president, all development projects should not be taken to their areas. You cannot take development to people who abuse you on a daily basis,'' she is quoted by the Citizen Digital.
The leaders also defended the government's big appetite for borrowing.
Kindiki defended the state saying that the debt is justifiable and will be put into proper use in line with Jubilee's development agenda.
''Those at the helm of power in the government, Uhuru Kenyatta, and William Ruto, know the plans for the country. The money they are borrowing is to facilitate development where that development will generate finances in the long run,'' he is quoted by the website.
