President Uhuru Kenyatta sensationally claimed that former nominated MP Mark Too would have helped to mend fences between Baringo senator Gideon Moi and Deputy President William Ruto.
The two had heated exchanges during Too’s funeral on Monday, after Moi challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to face the people of Rift Valley directly in pursuit of votes.
And Uhuru, who was caught in the mix up between his two allies, caused a moment of laughter when he said Too would have helped to iron out the differences between the two.
“A lot of politics have been told here though in Kalenjin. However, I think this is where too would have done well. He would have reached Ruto and Moi and the situation would be something of the past,” he said.
“He loved making peace and almost everyone trusted him in mediation. Kenya has lost someone who we dearly needed especially at this time,” Kenyatta added.
Both Moi and Ruto have been fighting over control of the vote rich Rift Valley and their political rivalry have intensified since 2013.
