The current political instability in the country should be blamed on President Uhuru Kenyatta, Siaya Senator James Orengo has said.
Orengo said Jubilee's push to change election laws ahead of polls was a clear indication that Kenyatta was taking the country back to the days of one-party rule."The laws are going to turn Kenya into a banana country. President Kenyatta should be held responsible if the country plunges into bloodshed," Orengo said. The Senator also castigated the Government for banning anti-IEBC protests in major cities, terming the move by the Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i as 'dictatorial'."We shall not be intimidated. There are two High Court decisions by Justice Lenaola and Onguto that when there is a demonstration in which the government has been notified it is the responsibility of the police to ensure that protection is given to those who are exercising their freedom," Orengo said, adding that the opposition will continue staging demos across the country.Opposition leaders have been accusing police of using excessive force on NASA supporters during protests, claims the government has refuted.
