President Uhuru Kenyatta is now expected to have a new headache of rewarding top loyalists from Kisii and Nyamira counties respectively as they plan to hold a private meeting that will see them have a quorum to push for an extra cabinet secretary slot.
According to former Kisii county senator Chris Obure, the Omogusii unity leaders will meet over the weekend to ensure that the region gets an extra high-end post in Jubilee government to top up with the one held by Education Cabinet secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i.
Speaking on Tuesday when he met a group of Jubilee officials from the area Obure said they want to ensure Gusii community which highly contributed to the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta is well represented.
"We only have one slot in the cabinet but we want an extra one and probably other top posts to help the region that stood with president Uhuru," said Obure.
The former senator, however, did not reveal who they expect to endorse for any top seat from the region.
Uhuru managed to garner over 200,000 votes in the first round of presidential elections.
