The CS is accused of irregular purchasing of public land worth Sh3.2 billion in Ruaraka Nairobi and has since been asked to appear before EACC for grilling.

But at his Nyamira backyard, a number of leaders now want the CS to be dismissed in what tey call 'lack of integrity'.

"If the president is at all serious about fighting graft, he should start with Matiang'i because records show that he purchased a public land," said Victor Swanya, a Wiper politician.

Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire asked the president to repay his faith in fight against graft by dismissing Matiang'i from service.

"There is no option now because we can't continue losing billions. Matiang'i is corrupt beyond imaginations and this is the right time to relieve him off duties," he said.

Although Matiang'i has gone mum on the latest development, Interior Ministry spokesperson Mwenda Njoka has however insisted that the minister is yet to receive official summons.
