Governors James Ongwae (Kisii) and John Nyagarama (Nyamira) now says they will work tirelessly to ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta s locked out of Gusii region.
Last week, Uhuru vowed to push for the removal of the two governors, who are key campaign mobilisers of opposition leader Raila Odinga, through election petitions they are facing.
To lock Jubilee out of Gusii, Ongwae said, the NASA team has come with a structured campaign that involves all stakeholders within the opposition cycles.
“We cannot be intimidated just because of our political rights. A tough campaign has been organized and I assure you that Jubilee will now lose badly,” Ongwae said.
On his part, Nyagarama noted:” The clandestine campaign that we shall launch in due course will lock Jubilee out of our territory. They do not mean good for our people.”
While Ongwae is facing two petitions filed by Chris Obure and Patrick Lumumba respectively, Nyagarama is struggling to contain Walter Nyambati of Jubilee.
During the August polls, Uhuru scored fairly well in both counties compared to 2013 and managed to scoop 52 percent in Nyamira, a region believed to be NASA’s stronghold.
