Several Twitter users asked tough questions following the unusual occurrence before Uhuru reinstated Ruto as one of his followers.

Understandably, moments after the unusual incident, Uhuru also followed 33 Kenyans with only six Kenyans being on his list.

Those added to the account were First Lady Margaret Kenyatta,  Ezekiel Kemboi, Henry Rotich, Manoah Esipisu Aden Duale and Dennis Itumbi.

However, it is still unknown when the president stopped following his deputy despite the two having been friends on the platform.

Although he was later added, Kenyans seized the opportunity to bash Ruto, who they accused of unfollowing them whenever they differ in opinions.

"Ruto blocked me a few years ago. He cannot stomach argument and does not take chances when you differ with him," said Tony Moturi of ODM.

Another user, Nderitu Gachanja added: " He should have been unfollowed and blocked. He has that habit when you disagree with him."
