Former Makadara Member of Parliament Benson Mutura has called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to break his silence over the details of his truce with opposition leader Raila Odinga.
The President has remained mum on the deal which has thrown the nation into political uncertainty, with politicians and political commentators striving to predict what might have formed the basis of the surprise March 9 meeting.
Speaking on Radio Jambo Saturday, the ex-lawmaker urged the head of state to emulate Odinga who has since briefed his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party members on the same.
''It is time Uhuru called all Jubilee leaders and members and revealed what exactly is contained in their secret pact. He should emulate the opposition leader who only recently shared with his lieutenants on the same,'' said Mutura.
The leader also poked holes into the two leaders' joint peace initiative, faulting the former Premier's inclusion in the national cohesion team.
He noted that the leader is unlikely to keep his promise, citing the worsening internal wrangles in the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA), where he is the chief.
''Odinga is most likely dishonest in his pledge to spearhead peace. He comes from a wounded alliance which is almost on its knees and he has been implicated in facilitating the ongoing division in the alliance through his tricks and bad policies,'' he added.
The veteran leader has been accused of facilitating Bungoma Senator and fellow co-principal Moses Wetangula's Senate minority boss ouster and excluding the remainder of the team's summit in his meeting with the President.
