Uasin Gishu Council of Imams and Preachers in Kenya (CIPK) chairman Abubakar Bini has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to start peace caravan across the country.
He said this will help unite Kenyans who were badly divided due to the just concluded presidential elections."I want to urge President Kenyatta to start peaceful campaigns across the country to at least tone down the political temperature. He is now the president of all Kenyans whether they voted for him or not," he said in Eldoret town, Thursday."He should also reach out to the opposition leader Raila Odinga and try to settle their differences for the sake of Kenyans," he added. He, however, warned Raila against trying to sabotage the economy through calling upon his supporters to boycott some products and services."Raila and President Kenyatta should swallow their pride and embrace dialogue since Kenya is bigger than an individual. Threats and name calling will not solve anything instead will worsen dialogue is the way to go," noted Bini.He called upon Kenyans to maintain peace and live harmoniously with one another.
