President Uhuru Kenyatta has encouraged governors to strengthen devolution to better the lives of Kenyans.

Speaking in Kwale County during the launch of the governors’ conference at Diani Reef Hotel, the President Kenyatta said it was important for county governments to adopt resource allocation formula so that Kenyans can benefit from the government.

“I am willing and looking forward to working with you individually and collectively regardless of your political affiliation, mine is to ensure we deliver services to our people, ensure we transform the lives of Kenyans wherever they may be,” he said.

Mr. Kenyatta also called on the county governments to include the private sector in the development agenda as they seek to transform service delivery.

At the same time, President Kenyatta urged the county bosses to work together with the central government in order to achieve the goals of devolution.
