President Uhuru Kenyatta has called upon the private sector to give workers a salary increase.According to President Uhuru, a salary increment motivates workers to produce quality products."However, in return you must do quality work so as to attract more customers for your products," he said."I know the difficulties you face as workers. I am working to fix them and I want the private sector to do their bit,"said Uhuru. The Head of State said that in the 2017-18 budget, the Government has waived taxation on bonuses and overtime."As the Government, we decided to waive taxation on your bonuses and overtime allowances. This is to ensure you concentrate on your responsibilities of producing quality products, which would in turn attract better markets," Uhuru said. The President also called on the workers to register with the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) to allow them access to quality medical services."We also want you to join NHIF. We want to do away with Harambees so that every citizen can access proper medical care for their well-being," said President Kenyatta.
