President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on Kenyans to reject political leaders who are out to divide people instead of uniting them.
He said that some leaders’ agenda is to cause conflicts that further lead to people being divided.
Quoting the 2007/2008 post-election violence, President Kenyatta said the country had come a long way. He said some of the victims of the violence are yet to heal, therefore, Kenyans should not allow politicians who spark up conflicts to gain political power and divide people. He spoke on this issue while on a Nakuru tour where he is set to have a breakfast meeting with county officials at the Nakuru state house. The meeting will help the county leaders discuss development issues needed to be introduced in the country.
‘’We should not accept politics that are tribal and divisive because they kill our spirit of working together to develop the nation,’’ he said.
He advised the politicians and those aspiring to be leaders to not incite the Kenyan people. He also told Kenyans to be keen of such politicians and ignore them. He said if Kenyans unite, they will defeat the divisive politicians.
