President Uhuru Kenyatta took his re-election campaigns to Kilifi County on Monday where he vowed to jail Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi if Jubilee retains power after the August polls.
According to the President, governors who have been accused of mismanaging county funds will have to face the full force of the law should he win a second term in office.Speaking in Ganze constituency, Uhuru took a swipe at Kingi saying he is only good at politicking and insulting him while locals continue suffering from the biting water problem.“The insults made against me by Kingi are not helping to solve problems for the people. Let him deliver development instead of hurling insults at the presidency,” said Uhuru, as quoted by The Star. While accusing Kingi of failing to utilize the over Sh40 billion received from the central government over the past four years, the President fired a warning shot saying that his (Kingi’s) days were numbered."Governors who will be taken to court after the August 8 elections are many. Kingi, who is your own here, will be among them," he said. The President asked the locals to rally behind him in his quest for a second term in office arguing that the opposition has nothing new to offer.
