President Uhuru Kenyatta has cautioned the National Super Alliance (NASA) flagbearer against dragging the military into issues pertaining to politics.

Speaking when he took his re-election campaigns to Busia County on Thursday, the Head of State said it was his duty, and of security forces to protect all Kenyans, including Raila.

“Now he is even talking of the KDF. Sometime earlier it was the police. Our security forces are protecting everyone. You (Raila) are also being protected by the police,” said Uhuru, as quoted by the Star.

The accusations by the President comes a day after the opposition moved to court to challenge the alleged plans by the government to deploy the armed forces personnel in areas listed as violence hotspots during next month poll.

The ODM leader has been claiming that Jubilee administration is intending to use some top military commanders to rig the election in its favour.

He also alleges a plot by the government to use acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i to deny him victory.

But the President dismissed the allegations and told Raila to concentrate on selling the NASA agenda to Kenyans to woo their support instead of fighting government officials.

“You are looking for a big seat. Leave the junior government officials to do their work,” Uhuru added.
