Speaking at the Nairobi State House during the Kenya Music festival winners concert on Friday, the president revealed that this was an extension of generosity as their public school counterparts were already enjoying the favor.

He also said that the Sh29 billion his government had allocated to free secondary school education would see a 100 per cent transition of  students from primary to secondary school.

Every year, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) collects money from KCPE and KCSE candidates to cater for the examination and marking costs, something that according to the president will be history starting next year.

This is also as a consideration to the fact that not all parents that take their children to private schools are rich.
