President Uhuru Kenyatta has challenged opposition leader Raila odinga to hang his boots from politics due to advanced age and solely focus of advising young people.
Odinga has been a major critic of Kenyatta’s administration, leading to persistent attacks from Jubilee administration which believes he is an impediment to progress.
In his first day tour to Central Kenya strongholds, Uhuru said he was ready to visit Odinga in his Bondo home and offer a cup of uji should the former premier heed his advice.
“I want to urge Raila to humbly retire from politics and embark on the process of advising upcoming leaders. His days in politics are over and it is time that he retires,” he said.
“I will be taking care of him by even taking a cup of uji for him at Bondo. That is the only good thing he can do for us rather than opposing everything we set up as a government,” he added.
Uhuru is touring his backyard central region amidst claims that he had ignored the region that propelled him to State House.
