President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have hatched a plot to cling to power, NASA campaign strategist Salim Lone claims.

According to the Star, Lone has said that Jubilee Party wants to change the laws in order to ensure that Uhuru does not leave State House any soon.

The opposition’s campaign strategist argued that the continuous attacks by Jubilee on the Judiciary are a clear indicator that Uhuru is not ready to hand over power.

In a statement released to the newsroom, Lone said that Kenya is heading to a political crisis if the current situation persists.

"Jubilee plans to prevent Supreme Court from annulling elections are designed to rally his base and assure them power will always stay with them. Not just till 2022, but forever," he claimed.

The remarks of Lone come after NASA started countrywide protests to flush out Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) from power. The leaders of the opposition have vowed that they will not take part in the election if their demands are not met.

They are demanding for the resignations of IEBC top officials including CEO Chiloba Ezra among other suspected of manipulating the August poll outcome.
