President Uhuru Kenyatta has been called upon to select unelected leaders and educationists in his cabinet secretary slots and leave out elected leaders to work for their voters.

According to Bonchari constituency member of Parliament, John Oroo, there are speculations that the president is keen on awarding one of the elected MPs from Kisii county for the cabinet secretary job.

Speaking on Saturday at Kerina the MP urged the president to ensure he takes his time when selecting his cabinet secretaries to avoid any conflict between him and other communities.

"I would urge the president to stop approaching elected MPs for possible appointment in few days time," said Oroo.

The president is expected to select his cabinet secretaries in a few days time.

He in the past selected elected members of Parliament in his cabinet.

For the last few days, leaders from various counties have been trying to lobby for the slots.
