President Uhuru Kenyatta has issued a stern warning against individuals behind violence and acts of lawlessness in some parts of the North Rift region.
Speaking at the Recruits Training School (RTS) in Eldoret town on Friday when he presided over the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) passing-out-parade, the head of state further said the country has no room for politicians out to divide Kenyans.
While referring to the insecurity being witnessed in Laikipia, Kerio Valley among other parts of the North Rift region, the President said KDF had been deployed in affected areas to help police help restore law and order.
"I want to be perfectly clear: these perpetrators of violence and lawlessness in the North Rift, Laikipia and elsewhere will be dealt with," Kenyatta warned.
"There is no room here for those who want to divide us; there is no room in Kenya for those who want to snatch away the property others have laboured to build; and there is absolutely no room here for those who would raise their hands against their brothers and countrymen. The leaders of the incitement and violence will learn their lesson," he added.
