[Photo/Twitter]President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a stern warning to persons who are intending to interfere with the upcoming October 26 repeat presidential election.Reports of IEBC officials being attacked by Nasa supporters during the ongoing trainings ahead of the October poll have been reported in some regions believed to be opposition's strongholds. Speaking in Nanyuki during a Jubilee rally on Wednesday, Uhuru said stiff action will be taken against individuals who attack the IEBC staff."Whoever will try to stop the elections, by attacking IEBC officials, firm action will be taken against them. We cannot allow a few individuals to destroy our country,” said Uhuru.The president further noted the electoral body's staff will be provided with security so as to allow them work in a conducive environment without intimidation.“Anyone who will attempt to disrupt the election or attack election officials will be dealt with regardless of your position. You cannot stop a democratic process,” noted Uhuru.Kenyatta who was accompanied by his deputy William Ruto wondered why their competitors from the Nasa team wanted to stop electorates from voting on the 26 of October yet it was their right."We are telling Raila you have a right to boycott the election but Kenyans have a right to vote, " Uhuru said.
